📖 Colossians 3:13
Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance … Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
I once heard someone say, “Holding a grudge is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die.”
Forgiveness is hard, but it’s also freeing. And when Paul writes to the church at Colossae, he reminds them that forgiveness is not optional—it’s part of walking in grace daily.
Grace for others doesn’t mean pretending the wrong never happened. It doesn’t mean letting people hurt you without boundaries. Grace means we choose not to let bitterness control us. It means we release the burden of revenge and allow God to work healing in ways we can’t.
Jesus made this clear when he told Peter to forgive “seventy times seven.” It’s not about math. It’s about forming a lifestyle where grace flows outward as freely as it flows in.
👉 Who do you need to forgive? It might be a family member, a co-worker, or even yourself. Begin by praying for them. Even if your heart isn’t ready, prayer softens the soil where forgiveness can grow.
💭 Reflection Question: Who in your life is God inviting you to forgive—or at least to begin praying for?
🙏 Prayer: God of mercy, you have forgiven me more than I deserve. Help me to extend that same grace to others. Free me from bitterness, and fill me with your love. Amen.
📲 Action: Write down one person’s name and begin praying for them daily this week.
