How did a man who had so many profound things to say find the strength to speak? How was he able to speak into the greats like Martin Luther King, jr while still remaining grounded? This photo speaks to me about his calmness, his love for nature, stillness, and silence – a place where he could reflect and gather his thoughts. As a young boy, he was a contemplative person, a mystic.
He had a profound quest for being in the present moment while connecting with all living things. He greatly appreciates the sacred that is within each person, and worked to remove the obstacles that divided people.
My challenge in these very difficult moments is to find the sacred in the people whom I encounter, whom I interact with on a daily basis. I’m challenged to find the quiet, the stillness, the nature where I can be filled back up. So I will end this post with an understanding that I have work to do in this area of my life.
