In these days of uncertainty, one thing remains, the steadfast love of the Lord. Psalm 136 reminds us “his steadfast love endures forever.” The band, Jesus Culture, wrote a song entitled “One Thing Remains.” Throughout the song, we are reminded that even though the mountains or obstacles seem beyond our capacity to face, God’s love will forever be there for us. The chorus goes on to use I Corinthians 13:7-8 to stir up our faith and reminder of how God’s love “never fails,” “never gives up,” and “never runs out.” Throughout the world, people are facing the uncertainties of what the future might hold. Let us remember to cling to Jesus and be strengthened by the grace & love that he extends to us.
During this time, pull in closer to your loved ones, enjoy the outdoors, and build up yourselves through the Word of God, worship, and prayer. For me personally, I find my professional life being consumed by staying up-to-date with the latest information that comes to us from the CDC or Family and Social Services Administration. It seems that as soon as one decision is made, it is thrown to the scrap pile and we go back to the drawing board. It would be easy to become consumed by these ever changing decisions or to be completely glued to the television so that the latest news report is hitting my ears. However, I’m encouraged to unplug at times, pick up a good book, go to the piano, play with the dogs and take a walk with my husband Luis.
The Bible teaches us that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. My prayer is that your heart, soul & spirit is consumed with the love of the Lord that never fails, never gives up, and never runs out.
